Meet the Speakers:
Chris Baker
Chris has spent ten years at Feeding Missouri working with all six Feeding America Food Banks. Previously, Chris had a long career in advertising and public relations, and a very brief stint working for a United States Congressman. He especially enjoys working with all of the food sourcing individuals in the network.
Mike Birkmeyer
Mike started at MSDE as the Processing Specialist in 2005 and was promoted to his current position in 2007. Before joining Maryland he was Purchasing Manager for Maines Paper and Foodservice. Mike has over thirty year's foodservice experience, which includes serving as a wholesale produce buyer for Marriott Distribution Services and a local produce company, Director of Operations for foodservice at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and various management positions for Hyatt Regency hotels. Mike has a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Widener University. Mike is the Exhibits co-chair for the Maryland School Nutrition Association and is a Past President of the American Commodity Distribution Association.
Kyle Jordan
Kyle Jordan has been with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services since 2012. His duties include program oversite of the USDA Foods for Schools Program as well as management of Florida’s state-contracted warehouse. Kyle received his bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science from the State University of New York at Oswego as well as a master’s degree in Public Administration with concentrations in local government and emergency management from Florida State University. In his free time, Kyle enjoys traveling, collecting antique sports memorabilia and watching the Buffalo Bills.
Shelly Robinson
Shelly Robinson serves as the Vice President of Procurement, bringing a diverse K-12 background in education and district food service operations. Prior to joining Quest, her focus was on managing $100M plus vendor contracts, with extensive experience in food purchasing and procurement.
Shelly has a vast background in Child Nutrition Programs and is an active member of the American Commodity Distribution Association, serving as the Co-Chair of the Education Committee. A lifelong Texan, Shelly holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas Tech University.
Noelle Sanchez
Noelle Sanchez has more than 10 years’ experience working with USDA Foods and has been with the New Mexico Food and Nutrition Services Bureau since 2012. Her duties include program oversite of USDA Food distribution for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), the Commodities Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), as well as management of New Mexico’s state-owned and operated warehouse. Noelle received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of New Mexico. She has spent her career in public service with a mission to address food insecurity for the most vulnerable. Additionally, Noelle is the Immediate Past President of the American Commodity Distribution Association.
